Main scientific achievements made over the last five years: | The neurochemical and neurophysiological peculiaries of formation and functioning of analyzators of developing organizm were studied. The ontogenetic peculiarities of rehabilitation of analyzators' dysfunctions were determined and important role of glutaminerge brain system was defined. The ecological criterion of extremal developmental canditions for Caspian sturgeon was established and peculiarities of their physiological systems in polluted environment were clasified. |

Brief information on the organization's history: | The Institute of Physiology n.a.A.I.Karaev was founded in 1952 y.within Institute of Zoology of Acalemy of Sciences initially as an independent Sector of Physiology. In 1968 the sector of Physiology was reorganized into the scientific Institute of Physiology. The first Director of the Institute was Academician A.I.Karaev. Nowadays the Institute has been bearing his name. |
