“Azerbaijan oil” project of ANAS Institute of Geology was awarded with grant by Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan Republic. The scientists of the institute intend to establish Geochemical Research Center within the frame of the project. Researches with chromatic-mass spectroscopy related with oil, thermal analysis, calorimetry, termogravimetry, element analysis, dynamic light distribution and with other ways will be carried out in geochemical laboratory. Modern scientific research equipments will be bought from the “Perkin Elmer” company of Swiss for the implementation of this works.
Vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Geology, Academician Akif Alizadeh notified that, many scientific questions about the origin of petroleum are unresolved and actual at present. Reports at the first international conference on “Carbohydrogen potential of great depth: energy resources of future - reality and forecast” held in Baku last month, proved this. Academician considers that, the Geochemical Research Center can give a significant contribution on clearing obstacles in the field of geology science.
