With the goal of to broaden ties between science and education and to arouse interest in the science of botany on students, ANAS Institute of Botany held a seminar on “Role of Herbaria Fund on protection of plant diversity” by participation of specialists from 2 countries and Baku pupils (European lyceum and upper class pupils of the secondary school N271)for the first time.

At the seminar had organized in ANAS Institute of Botany, chief of Herbaria lab, PhD in biology Pervane Garakhani and curator of the Berlin (Germany) Botanical Garden and Botanical Herbaria Museum Dr. Sarah Bollendorff informed pupils about field - research and monitoring activities, collection and preparation of herbaria materials, the scientific and practical importance of the use of herbaria samples.

Acquainted with the rich Herbaria Fund and recently updated fulfillment here, the students conducted discussions on the received information, and voluntarily expressed their desire to participate in the enrichment of herbaria.
