On July 16, executive director of Science Development Foundation under President of Azerbaijan Republic, PhD in mathematics and physics Elchin Babayev hold consultation seminar to help persons wishing to participate in competition and facilitate the process of preparation of projects, correctly filling application and additional documents. Pro-rector of BSU on scientific problems Ismayil Aliyev stated care and attention of state to science development and emphasized President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev’s order about the creation of Science Development Foundation. He noted that, first period of the competition had started from July 1 and would continue till September 15 and 6 million 100 thousand manat had been granted for competition.

executive director of Science Development Foundation Elchin Babayev tald that, the aim of the competition was to finance programs and projects important for state and society in nature, technical, humanitarian and social science fields presented by scientific organizations, educational institutions, other appropriate organizations and physical persons and stimulate scientists’ scientific activity and gave them free activity opportunity. E.Babayev stated that, any scientist, physical person, scientific institutions, organizations, scientific NGOs and others can take part in the competition. The grants would be given as countrywide, regional and international projects. These projects are divided into minor projects (10 000 AZN), middle (100 000) and major (above 100 000 AZN) 3 000 000 AZN was granted for financing pilot project, 2 200 000 AZN for great projects, 400 000 AZN for project of scientific research of cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, 100 000 AZN for research-innovation characterized scientific-research projects. E.Babayev noted that the foundation would hold competition for two times in a year on may 10 and November 10 and on the day of announcing second competition winners of the first competition would be announced. The work would be carried out with the head of the project. As external examination was intended, the grant projects would be presented in English. There was no age limit.
